Eps 34 — Contracted

Contracted has the grue-crew squirming in their seats as the lead character, Samantha, contracts an STD that has her hemorrhaging blood, losing teeth and fingernails and…wait for it…pissing maggots.

As the stomach turns.

As Thomas shares, most people have a deep rooted fear of the human body, more specifically what can go wrong with the human body: Body Horror, Cronenberg style.

00:02:50 — Review of Contracted (2013)
Santos brings Contracted from the New York Horror Film Festival to the Horror News Radio grue. The film has the everyone at odds as Dave and Thomas enjoy the film for its imagination, gore and concept while Vixen and Doc have too much difficulty dealing with all the stupid characters, decisions and plot devices. Regardless, the film is riveting, captivating its audience until the final frame. The film preys on the fears of body horror with blood, sores, bleeding eyes and vomit. It’s nasty.

00:48:30— Horror News of the Week for 11/25/2013

IFC Midnight has purchased the Zoe Bell film, Raze, for release early in 2014. The documentary Playing with Fear has created a 3 minute short about the evolution of horror gaming in efforts to raise money with the crowd funding efforts.

01:02:10 — What Have You Been Watching: Day of the Doctor
Day of the Doctor leaves Thomas and Doc giddy as school kids with the 50th anniversary, 799th episode of the phenomenal BBC series, Doctor Who. David Tennant, the tenth Doctor, joins Matt Smith, the current eleventh Doctor to stand along side John Hurt as the War Doctor, who is responsible for destroying all of the Time Lords. The show is rich in science fiction, entertainment and emotionally gripping story. Vixen and Santos only recall the Tom Baker episodes from the 1970s – boy, are they in for a surprise!
