Seemingly out of nowhere Bad Robot and Paramount Pictures released 10 Cloverfield Lane, a tangentially related film to Cloverfield (2008) from J.J. Abrams and director Dan Trachtenberg. The sci-fi / thriller hybrid features a tour-de-force performance from its cast, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman and John Gallagher Jr., and a tense Hitchcockian approach to the conflicts between the main characters locked in a bunker as the world above experiences an unknown calamity. The Grue-crew dissect and discuss the plot, the acting, the directing and…the surprises.
Dave is back with the HORROR NEWS OF THE WEEK segment sharing information about Spider-Man’s debut in the latest Captain America: Civil War trailer, the zombies of The Walking Dead setting up residence in Universal Studio’s California theme park and Robert Kirkman’s latest foray into episodic television series with Outcast.
