The film, garnering huge buzz by making impressive bank with a limited release, is going wide and deserves to be seen in the theater, in a crowd. Review: It Follows (2015) 

Young Jay (Maika Monroe) falls for a new beau succumbing to his charms. After a night of passion, she discovers the boy has passed on to her a curse where a mysterious force – a force that can take on ANY appearance – follows you until it catches you…and kills you. Jay and her friends struggle to find a way to survive. The film embraces its influences mixing them with unique and effectively simple approach to fear and horror. The grue-crew chime in with their take on this modern masterpiece.

Co-host Thomas Mariani returns from Austin, Texas and the South By South West (SXSW) 2015 film festival. He shares his adventures, seeing George Miller talk about Road Warrior and Mad Max Fury Road and reviews the horror film, The Final Girls.

Horror News of the Week for 03/23/2015 

Dave shares the Horror News of the Week beginning with the announcement that actors Jim Carrey and Keanu Reeves are joining the cannibal film The Bad Batch. Bryan Fuller reveals that Vincenzo Natali is directing three episodes of Hannibal season 3 and  Neil Marshall is set to direct the episode titled “The Great Red Dragon.” It appears, to little surprise, that Doctor Strange will be the Marvel’s first horror film. Wes Craven is back in the news with whispers that he will helm the sci-fi horror TV show The Disciples. Jenn and Sylvia Soska, the Twisted Twins, are set to publish their first comic, Kill-Crazy Nymphos ATTACK!

Jeremy Lovering directs the highly praised horror thriller starring Iain De Caestecker (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Alice Englert (Beautiful Creatures) and Allen Leech (Downton Abbey). But, the well-intention-ed positive reviews, even from HorrorNews.Net itself, do not phase the HNR hosts’ reaction to the film. While the concept of the film and Lovering’s direction impress, the film meanders too far for too long to excite the crew. Doc Rotten steps in for the under-the-weather Dave Dreher to bring the Horror News of the Week.American Horror Story season 4 is confirmed to be about a carnival, at least in part. This week’s The Walking Dead is kicking up controversy and praise on social media outlets with Doc suggesting that “I forgive you” has never had such weight on genre television. In Fear director Jeremy Lovering is set to be in charge of the remake of the 1980 ghost story classic, The Changeling. The short list for directors of Marvel’s Dr. Strange film are rumored to be Mark Andrews (Brave), Jonathan Levine (Warm Bodies, All the Boys Love Mandy Lane), and Scott Derrickson (Sinister, The Exorcism of Emily Rose). Diabolique Magazine is urging readers and Hammer fans to sign a petition requesting Warner Brothers to release their classic Hammer horror titles on Blu-ray.
